The Holomua Student Success Program
Notice: The Holomua Center is temporarily housed at Iliahi 103 due to renovations.
The Holomua Student Success Program provides basic skills and developmental instruction for college students who place into PCC 20, ENG 21, ENG 22, PCM 23, MATH 24, MATH 25, MATH 81, and/or LSK 30G.
Through classroom instruction, tutoring, counseling support, computer assisted instruction, and group learning activities, the program is designed to meet the needs of the underprepared college student.
While students acquire basic competencies in reading, writing, and mathematics, they also learn the importance of being active and responsible learners. Study skills and shared learning activities are also integrated into the curriculum.
Eligibility
Applicants new to the college who do not have previous college course work in English and mathematics are required to take the COMPASS Placement Test for English and mathematics. Results of this test will determine the starting course level. If a student places into an English or mathematics course that is below the 100-level, they will be enrolled in Holomua classes.
For more information, see "Placement Testing" under the Related Links section.
