ATI-TEAS Exam

ATI TEAS Exam Announcement: (updated 4/19/2022)

Effective May 31, 2022, the KCC Nursing Department will NO longer allow the ATI TEAS to be proctored at home. After this date, all students must take the ATI TEAS exam at a testing center.

The nursing department will grandfather in all exams taken since March 20, 2020 when UH officially mandated the “Stay at Home” order. Effective June 1, 2022 the ATI TEAS exams must be taken in a testing center to be considered for the KCC Nursing Programs.

The Assessment Technologies Institute-Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI-TEAS) exam is an admissions requirement for the Practical Nursing (PRCN) Program, LPN-RN Transition (TRANS) Program, and the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program.

The Kapiʻolani CC Practical Nursing (PRCN) Program requires an ATI-TEAS exam-adjusted individual total score of 60% or higher. The Kapiʻolani CC LPN-RN Transition Program and the Kapiʻolani CC Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program require an ATI-TEAS exam adjusted the individual total score of 65% or higher. Results are affirmed immediately after completing the computer-based test. The exam score remains current for three years. The exam may be retaken every 90 days. The higher score will be used if taken more than once. For updates on the ATI TEAS exam, pre-nursing students are encouraged to periodically revisit the ATI TEAS Exam webpage (on the Kapiʻolani CC website), attend a nursing information session or visit with a nursing program counselor during walk-in advising periods.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing measures will be enforced and all exam participants will be required to wear a mask when completing the ATI-TEAS exam. Failure to wear a mask will result in the cancellation of the exam appointment and the need to reschedule the exam appointment.

Exam participants may opt to complete the ATI-TEAS exam at a third-party testing site (e.g., Psi Testing Center in Honolulu), wherein exam participants will need to pre-register for the exam via the ATI website at https://www.atitesting.com.
