ACCJC-WASC Accreditation

Kapi‘olani Community College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC-WASC), 10 Commercial Blvd., Suite 204, Novato, CA 94949, (415) 506-0234, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Every six years the ACCJC-WASC, often referred to as ACCJC, conducts an evaluation of Kapi‘olani Community College’s educational and institutional effectiveness. The evaluators are selected from community colleges in the western region of the United States, and this process is the nation’s method of assuring that our college meets stringent academic and organizational standards to provide the best education possible to our students.
In August 2010 the College organized more than 120 staff and faculty to begin research and writing the 2012 Self Evaluation of Educational Quality and Institutional Effectiveness report.

In February 2007 ACCJC announced that all the University of Hawaii Community Colleges (UHCC) were accredited for the maximum possible cycle of full six years, up to 2012. UHCC issued a press release.
