As the Office of Student Life, our purpose is to guide and be a resource hub for students’ pathway to college success. We commit to the creation and preservation of an honest, equal, respectful and collaborative environment for all students as well as the campus community. With strong communication and a welcoming spirit, we provide direct assistance and preparation to achieve student success and accomplish students’ personal, professional, and educational goals.

Our vision is to unify the students, staff, and faculty at Kapi’olani Community College to create a sense of community and have students be actively engaged on campus while they continue to grow and accomplish their academic and personal goals.

We are CLOSED on the weekends and holidays.
We will be closed on Friday, February 3.

  • All flyers must be approved by OSL. Please leave white space in the bottom right corner for the OSL stamp.
  • Flyers must promote activities and events that are free to Kapi‘olani CC students. (Classes that charge tuition and fees do not meet this criteria.)
  • No more than 15 flyers will be posted, up to 10 business days before the event.
  • Flyers should be no more than 8 1/2″ wide and 11″ tall. Full letter-size flyers must be printed in portrait.

The Office of Student Life (OSL) is the official “Lost and Found” center for the Kapi‘olani Community College campus.

If you have found an item anywhere on campus, please bring it to the OSL office – ‘Iliahi 126. We will log and store the item in a safe location while we try to contact the owner.

If you have lost an item, please come to the OSL office and check to see if it has been turned in or submit this form and we will check if we have it. If it has not, you may file a report with our staff. If your property is brought to the OSL office you will be contacted immediately.

TheBus/City & County of Honolulu University Bus Pass (U-PASS) Program — The U-PASS is no longer a sticker that goes on your ID card. Your student ID will now be a HOLO card that needs to be activated every semester that you are eligible for/purchase the UPASS.

Cost: $40 per semester and is a mandatory student fee for all students taking in-person and/or hybrid courses.

Current high school students, seniors, or students with disabilities are able to apply for a waiver if they already have a valid U-Pass.

All sales final. NO REFUNDS. CASH ONLY.

The U-PASS is NON-TRANSFERABLE and the College assumes no responsibility for loss, theft, destruction or misplacement of this pass. The fee for a replacement U-PASS is $40, regardless of when it is replaced during the semester.

Valid Dates: Covering specified five months of each semester

  • Fall = August 1 thru January 15
  • Spring = January 1 thru May 31
  • Summer = May 1 thru August 31, $135 (subject to change)

Eligibility: All students with a validated Kapi‘olani Community College (Kapi‘olani CC) photo identification card. Students must be enrolled in an in-person and/or hybrid course at Kapi’olani Community College.

All Kapi‘olani Community College students, staff and faculty are eligible for the discounted rate for Consolidated Theatre and Regal Theatre (formerly Signature) movie tickets.

Screensavers tickets are $8.50 each. Regal tickets are $8.50 each.

Screensavers are valid at any Consolidated Theaters location except during special engagements or where prohibited (see ticket for details). After the opening 2 weeks, they will be accepted for any performance.

Regal’s VIP Super Saver tickets are not valid during the first 12 days of “Selected” new release films, special engagements, etc (see ticket for details).

To purchase discount movie tickets, visit the Office of Student Life (OSL) in ‘Iliahi 126. There is a limit of ten tickets per day. The OSL has very limited cash on hand, so please bring exact change for your ticket purchase.

Discounted movie tickets are not to be confused with movie “passes” attained through special circumstances.

All new, incoming students and faculty/staff are eligible to receive one Kapi’olani Community College (Kapi’olani CC) ID card at no charge. Each type of ID card is specific to the individual’s status at Kapi‘olani CC and provides the cardholder to certain college privileges and benefits.


Students Must:

  • If you will be coming on campus, you will complete the Student ID Application Form with the OSL front desk. If you would like your ID card mailed, please fill out this Mailing Student ID Application Form
  • Present a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport).
  • Any holds or financial obligations, including tuition and fees, must be cleared before an ID card will be issued or validated. If you are on a scholarship program, on a payment plan or the military will be paying for your education then please let us know by emailing us at
  • To locate your UH ID number, go to Managing Your UH Username and log in. Your 8-digit UH ID is directly below your name.


  • Returning students must validate their ID’s every semester.
  • Any holds or financial obligations, including tuition and fees, must be cleared before an ID card will be validated. If you are on a scholarship program, on a payment plan, or using VA benefits then please let us know when coming in or email us at
  • Go to the Office of Student Life in ‘Iliahi 126 (same building as Subway) for validation.

Continuing Education/Non-Credit Students:

  • Students enrolled in continuing education and non-credit courses are eligible for a Student ID card, valid for the duration of their course.
  • Each department or program will issue a memo (or some other form of verification) to the participant after they have registered and paid the appropriate charges for their course. ID cards for continuing education/non-credit classes are valid from the first to the last day of their course(s).
  • Continuing Education/Non-Credit ID applicants must provide a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport) with an identification number.
  • The Continuing Education ID card is valid for one semester. Please bring your card back to the Office of Student Life in ‘Iliahi 126 (same building as Subway) to re-validate for your next semester that you are taking a course. Replacement IDs will cost $5 cash only.

Student parking permits are required for all vehicles/mopeds/motorcycles for all parking lots on campus. Here are instructions on how to apply for your parking permit: Once you receive an email approving your permit, please pick up your permit at the Office of Student Life in ‘Iliahi 126. You can walk in during our open hours. Please email us if you want your parking permit mailed. For any questions, please email or call 808-734-9576.

HMSA’s student health insurance plan is available to registered students. Hard copy applications are available at the Office of Student Life in ‘Iliahi 126.

To qualify for the student health insurance plans endorsed by the University of Hawai‘i, undergraduates must have a minimum of six credits during the Fall or Spring semesters and three credits during the summer sessions. Students not taking classes during the summer may still qualify for cover if they were enrolled in the previous Spring semester and are registered for the following Fall semester.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and closures, the UH Federal Credit Union Service Representative will not be present on campus during this time, please contact UH Federal Credit Union below if you need any assistance or have any questions.

The University’s credit union invites you to be a member. To qualify you must be a registered student within the University of Hawai‘i System, a UH faculty/staff member, a current member of the UH Alumni Association, or a family member of any of the preceding groups.

The benefits of being a member include free on-line banking, great savings account rates, checking with LOW minimum balances and no monthly fees, as well as great loan rates. A $100 minimum deposit enables you to open a UH FCU savings account. No cash transactions available.

The Board of Student Activities (BOSA) is one of three Kapi‘olani CC chartered student organizations (CSO’s) and is comprised of a 9-member board of six students and three faculty/staff members. BOSA creates the budget for the Office of Student Life (OSL) and works in cooperation to provide services, activities, and events for the campus community. Part of the duties of the BOSA is to evaluate funding requests from Registered Independent Organizations aka student clubs.

The Student Congress is a University of Hawai‘i Board of Regents chartered student organization and abides by the rules, responsibilities, and obligations set forth by the Associated Students of Kapi‘olani Community College (ASKCC) Student Charter.

ASKCC Student Congress serves as the voice representing the student body of Kapi‘olani Community College (Kapi‘olani CC) matters of governance of the college and the University of Hawai‘i system. ASKCC Student Congress advises and participates, through established communication channels, in college governance in matters relating to student life, programs, and activities includes such items relevant to Kapi‘olani CC as student governance, organizations that support social life or leisure activities, and support and involvement in “co-curriculum activities” or “student life programs and activities.”

The Board of Student Publications (BOSP) is one of three Kapi‘olani Community College (Kapi‘olani CC) chartered student organizations and is comprised of a 7-member board of four students and three faculty/staff members. BOSP oversees and coordinates all publications at Kapi‘olani CC, including the newspaper, academic journals, and the Creative Media Lab. One of our major responsibilities is to oversee the expenditure of funds collected from students as a publication fee.

The mission of the Board of Student Publications:

  • Provide media for instruction and training.
  • Showcase student talents.
  • Provide media for sharing information, ideas, and opinions.
  • Support cross-curricular emphasis.

Prospective members are nominated by the BOSP to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a part of this student leadership team, email us, or attend a general meeting. Interested students do not have to have any publications experience, just a desire to learn about student leadership!

Kapi‘olani Community College provides opportunities to get involved in the campus community. There are several active Registered Independent Organizations (RIOs student clubs and organizations) including those with academic, cultural, or social focuses. The Office of Student Life (OSL) encourages all students to get involved in co-curricular activities as there are many benefits associated with these experiences. You can enhance your education, add experience to your resumé, learn to be a leader, strengthen your leadership, and develop personally and professionally. Check out our current and past RIOs. If there is not an existing RIO for your interests, then start a new RIO! All you need is four KapCC students and a staff/faculty advisor.
