Though there is no formal theatre department at the Kapiʻolani Community College, there are classes taught in acting and general theatre introduction. Each year the Theatre 222 class works toward a culminating production at the end of the year as part of their academic exploration of the performing arts. In addition, faculty involvement in grant proposals and interdepartmental cooperation contributes to the production of an ongoing series of performance at the Maile Performing Arts Center. The Kapiʻolani Community College offers public performances of theatre and dance, giving students an important opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge and contributing substantially to the community’s cultural arts.
Most productions are held at the Maile Performing Arts Center. Tickets are sold at the door for most events.
