ACC 201: Intro to Financial Accounting

ACC 201 introduces accounting principles and practices used to record and communicate financial information. Methods for valuating assets, liabilities, and equity of an organization will be analyzed. The student will be introduced to the purpose and fundamentals of ethics and internal controls.

Note

Prerequisite(s): A grade of "C" or higher in ENG 21, or a grade of "C" or higher in ENG 22, or successful completion of ESOL 94F, or successful completion of ESOL 94S, or qualification for ENG 100, or qualification for ESL 100 or equivalent course.

Recommended Preparation: Credit or concurrent enrollment in ICS 100, or credit or concurrent enrollment in ICS 101.

This ACC 201 class section (CRN 33612) is conducted on the internet and uses internet "content", online meeting platforms, and other means to supplement instructor contact. Students MUST check hawaii.edu emails and Laulima regularly to keep up with announcements, assignments, exams, etc. Login to Laulima class site two weeks before beginning of the semester for instructions. Use of WileyPlus homework system is required. Access code to WileyPlus is bundled with new customized textbook at the KapCC Bookstore. ACC 201 and ACC 202 at KapCC share the same textbook and access code.
