ACC 255: Using Excel(R) in Accounting

ACC 255 provides “hands-on” training in the use of spreadsheets on computer to solve accounting problems. Coursework involves application of previously acquired accounting skills and knowledge with emphasis on financial and managerial accounting. This course also introduces basic database concepts and applications in accounting.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of "C" of higher in ACC 124 and ACC 125, or a grade of "C" or higher in ACC 201; credit or concurrent enrollment in ICS 100, or credit or concurrent enrollment in ICS 101; prerequisites may be waived by the approval of the instructor, Accounting Program Coordinator, or the Business, Legal, & Technology Education Department Chair.

Students are expected to provide their own cloud storage space or an USB flash drive with 8GB or higher capacity and are required to have a basic familiarity with Windows file management and the Internet. This class uses SAM homework system. Access code to SAM is bundled with new textbooks at the KapCC bookstore. Instruction for this class based on the PC Windows version of Microsoft Office.
