Prerequisite(s): Credit or concurrent enrollment in CHEM 161.
Recommended Preparation: BIOC 141 or BIOL 101 or BIOL 124; or credit or concurrent enrollment in CHEM 100 and/or ZOOL 200. It is strongly recommended to take BIOL 171L concurrently with BIOL 171.
This BIOL 171 class section (CRN 33441) is conducted online. Please check your hawaii.edu email account regularly for course notifications and email the instructor as needed for additional information. Go to http://go.hawaii.edu/fP7 to help you decide if an online class is right for you. To take an online class, you need regular access to a recent model desktop or laptop and high-speed Internet.
Students must have Microsoft Office, Adobe/PDF reader, Adobe Flash Reader, an installed updated browser (Firefox and Google Chrome are preferred), a UH email account, and skills to use these effectively. All of the aforementioned programs are available as free downloads. Students will need to log in to MyUH portal, UH email, and Laulima on a regular basis. This class does NOT involve time-specific online meetings.
This class requires approximately five proctored exams which may be taken at any authorized testing center.
