PHYL 141L: Human Anatomy/Physiology Lab I

PHYL 141L Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory I covers the structure and function of the human body, which includes study and experimentation regarding embryology, gross anatomy, microanatomy, physiology, pathology, and homeostatic relationships with regards to the following areas: body orientation, chemistry, cells, tissues, integumentary system, bone tissue, skeletal system, joints, muscular tissue, muscular system, nervous tissue, spinal cord and nerves, brain, cranial nerves, and special senses.

Prerequisite(s): Credit or concurrent enrollment in PHYL 141.

Recommended Preparation: CHEM 100 or a higher-level chemistry course or a higher-level biochemistry course; and 101 or a higher-level biology course or 101 or a higher-level physiology course.

Please note that PHYL 141, PHYL 141L, PHYL 142, and PHYL 142L were formerly ZOOL 141, ZOOL 141L, ZOOL 142, and ZOOL 142L.

This PHYL 141L class section (CRN 34484) is conducted online. Please check your hawaii.edu email account regularly for class section notifications. Email the instructor as needed for additional information. Go to http://go.hawaii.edu/fP7 to help you decide if an online class is right for you. To take an online class, you need regular access to a recent model desktop or laptop computer as well as access to high-speed Internet. This class does NOT involve time-specific online meetings.

Students must have access to Microsoft Office, Adobe/PDF reader, Adobe Flash Reader, an installed updated browser (Firefox and Google Chrome are preferred), a UH email account, and skills to use these effectively. All of the aforementioned programs are available as free downloads. Students will need to log in to MyUH portal, UH email, and Laulima on a regular basis.

This class requires approximately four proctored exams which may be taken at any authorized testing center. If you prefer, you may take the proctored exam(s) using an online proctoring service. if you choose to use this service, you will be charged a fee.
