ICS 101: Digital Tools 4 Info World

Recommended Preparation: Keyboarding experience; credit in or qualification for ENG 100 or ESL 100; credit in or qualification for MATH 103 or higher-level mathematics course.

ICS 101 meets requirements for Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa (UHM) and the College of Business at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo (UHH).

Students are required to use Microsoft Office 2019 (Office 365) and Windows 10 and have a basic familiarity with the Internet. ICS 101 is required for Certificates of Completion in Programming, Database Administration, Help Desk Support Services and Payroll Preparer. It also meets requirements for Shidler College of Business (UHM), College of Business at Hilo (UHH), or School of Travel Industry Management (TIM), UHM’s Biology program and Botany Department.

MylTLab is a required tutorial and homework application for this course. A license for its use is included with each NEW textbook purchased. Students buying a used text or ordering one online which does not include the license will be required to purchase the program. Required course materials may be purchased from either the KapCC bookstore (combination of hardcopy and student access code) or directly from the publisher (eBook and student access code) at: http://www.myitlab.com.

This ICS 101 class section (CRN 33934) is taught online through weekly learning activities and course work. Students are expected to check Laulima and UH email regularly, and must have reliable access to a computer and connection to the Internet.
