Note 10.9.2018: These pages are work-in-progress for the STEM department as we’re exploring ways to bring all our content together. The content here may move around or run the risk of being inaccurate while we look for ways to merge everything together. For the time being, we recommend using the reviewing the STEM program pages for academic information and visit the STEM website for more details.
Building academic relationships, I ka Imi Na‘auao
“E lawe i ke aʻo a mālama, a e ʻoi mau ka naʻauao. Take what you have learned and apply it and your wisdom will increase.” (Pukui, 1983) A reminder to us that when we learn and gain ʻike (knowledge), we have a kūleana, a responsibility to apply, use, and share it with others.
The STEM mentors are STEM students who have achieved a required level of expertise and have already completed the required number of courses. Mentoring is available for free to all students enrolled at KapCC. We encourage all students enrolled in science and/or math courses to take advantage of this free service!

For existing Peer Mentors
Please sign-in after every one of your peer mentoring sessions. This will allow you to get full credit for your hard work and will help us adjust accordingly for next semester’s peer mentors.
As part of our efforts to continually improve the STEM Program’s peer mentoring system, we would like to ask you to take a 15-minute survey about your experience as a peer mentor. The survey will be submitted anonymously and your name will NOT be associated with your survey answers.
