Huliau:  Reclaiming Our Moʻolelo

November 18-19, 2021
9:30am – 11:00am

Aloha kākou,

As we start the makahiki season and prepare to celebrate Lā Kūʻokoʻa in November, we have this incredible opportunity to participate in a two-day arting and writing workshop at Honolulu Community College.

This is an opportunity to work with renown Hawaiian ideator, artist and educator, Meleanna Meyer. She is a liaison for people with visions large or small – who want to work together in community. Meleanna is a skilled and consummate creative who listens to nuggets and essential essences – compelling stories and genuine expression to work, develop and give voice to others.

Art is medicine, this will be a space where we work on ʻike ola pono, well-being. When we are well, then the others (haumāna, co-workers, family members, etc.) will receive our best. Through the action of arting and writing we will create an opportunity to heal from the challenges of change. This is a face to face workshop that will be held in the Hawaiian Center (Bldg 5/201) on November 18-19 from 9:30am to 11:00am. HCC Covid-19 safety protocols will be enforced. Lumisight clearance, masks and social distancing will be monitored. Seating is limited to 20. You must attend both days.

Please remember to work with your supervisor if you wish to participate in any training or workshop that takes you away from performing your normal work duties. For sessions that are two hours or more, a training request form should be submitted to your supervisor. Note that this does not apply to instructional faculty.

Register for Huliau: Reclaiming Our Moʻolelo. Last day to register is Poʻakolu (Wednesday), November 10, 2021.
