Kekaulike Center – UH System Upgrade

The University of Hawai’i will soon begin a project to upgrade the Banner Student Information System (SIS). To make the transition possible, the SIS and STAR will be temporarily unavailable from December 12, 2025 – January 3, 2026. MyUH will also be replaced with a new interface, Self-Service Banner 9.

System Outage: December 12, 2025 – January 3, 2026

What’s happening: Kekaulike Center online and in-person services (Admissions Applications, Registration Records, Transfer Evaluation Requests, Degree Awarding & Diplomas) including Cashiers will be temporarily unavailable during the system upgrade.

Plan Ahead: We recommend saving a copy of your STAR Spring 2026 registration class schedule and your STAR unofficial transcripts prior to December 11.

Admissions & Records Forms Deadlines

To ensure your request is processed prior to the upgrade, submit your online request forms listed below by December 8, 2025. After December 8, all online forms will be temporarily unavailable and will be processed in January once the system is back online.

  • Transcript Request (Order online via NSC & mail-in or drop-off forms must be received in-office by December 8)
  • Transcript Evaluation Request (to place transcript in queue, does not guarantee completed evaluation by December 11)
  • Change of Home Institution Form
  • Change of Grade
  • Change of Major
  • Consent to Release Information
  • Enrollment Verification
  • Student Data Change

Spring 2026 Registration & Overrides

  • You cannot register or make schedule changes during the system outage. Classes you are already registered or waitlisted for will not be affected.
  • Instructors and departments will also not be able to enter overrides during this time. To complete your Spring 2026 schedule, request any required overrides and register for those courses before December 11.

Key Dates:

  • December 11, at 5:00 PM Class Availability will be removed.
  • Late December: Schedule of classes available in a new interface, Self-Service Banner 9.
  • January 3, 2026: Add/drop for Spring 2026 classes will resume in STAR GPS.

UH Students will be allowed to register for Spring 2026 classes even if they have an unpaid balance from the Fall 2025 semester. See the Temporary grace period announcement here.

Spring 2026 Tuition, Fees & Payment

  • Spring 2026 tuition, fees, and other charges will not appear STAR until January 3, 2026.
  • Payments cannot be made until the system is live.
  • For planning, check the tuition and fees schedule for estimated costs.

Key Dates

  • January 3, 2026: Spring 2026 payment plan enrollment opens. Previous unpaid balances, including any Fall 2025 balances, can be added to your Spring 2026 plan. First payment processed on January 15, 2026.
  • January 9, 2026: Spring 2026 payment due date.
  • March 28: 2026: Final payment deadline for all Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 balances. Students with unpaid balances will continue to receive balance notifications after that date.

Fall 2025 Degree Awarding & Diplomas

Degree Awards:

  • If you are a Fall 2025 graduate and your application graduation status shows as Petitioned in STAR, your degree is expected to be officially conferred 8-12 weeks after the end of the fall semester.
  • Degree awarding will be DELAYED due to the Banner transition.

Copy of Diploma Form (Paradigm Reorder Module)

  • Requests received after December 8 will not be processed and will be cancelled due to the System outage. Students are encouraged to place new orders in January when the system is back online.

Fall 2025 Grades & Academic Standing

Grading

  • Instructors will have a limited window to enter final grades for the Fall 2025 semester, but the final grading deadline of December 23, 2025 at 4pm remains unchanged.

View Your Fall 2025 Grades

  • Final grades will be available in STAR after the upgrade on January 3, 2026.
  • End-of-semester updates like your academic standing, repeat courses, failed prerequisites, or planning for Spring 2026, may not be finalized until after the system upgrade. Check STAR for updates on January 3, 2025 or reach out to your academic counselor if you have questions.

STAR & MyUH Access

  • STAR and MyUH will go completely offline at 5:30 PM. on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
  • December 14: STAR will be view-only. You can see information prior to December 11.
  • January 3, 2026: STAR & STAR GPS fully back online for Fall 2025 grades and Spring 2026 add/drop.

Financial Aid

Our Financial Aid Office will be available to answer general questions only, as access to detailed student information will not be available until the system comes back online in January.
