GoCook! Hawaii training recognized for excellence

On Thursday, August 11, at the GoCook and GoBake Hawai‘i cohort graduation, the Culinary Dept. was presented with a plaque from the National Council for Workforce Education (NCWE), recognizing its GoCook! Hawai‘i training program.

NCWE recently called for nominations for outstanding non-credit programs from colleges throughout the nation.

While GoCook did not receive an overall award, NCWE felt that the merits of the program deserved recognition. That recognition is an affirmation of the hard work and dedication that the students, administrators and teachers have put into the program

GoCook! Hawai‘i is an 11-week short-term training program designed to train individuals in the basics of culinary practices for commercial and restaurant kitchens throughout the state. The program is partially funded by the Trade Adjustment Act Community College to Career (TAACCCT) grant round 3 grant from the United States Department of Labor, awarded to KCC in October, 2013.
