Grants Development

“Building a culture of evidence, supporting improvement and innovation, raising resources, and striving for the highest.”

The Office for Institutional Effectiveness (OFIE), in partnership with the Title III Shared Services Center, is available to assist faculty and staff in the development of a grant proposal from conceptualization to the final submission of a proposal.

Since 2009, we have helped campus programs raise over $60 million in extramural revenue through grants and contracts. Notably, OFIE led efforts to build infrastructure for the STEM Program through over $12 million in federal investment from the National Science Foundation Tribal Universities and Colleges Program. Additionally, OFIE raised over $25 million in federal grants for campus renovations and programs to support a campus committed to Native Hawaiian student success.

OFIE has raised over $1.6 million dollars from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to construct the Pālolo Ohana Learning Center at Pālolo Homes, and the Mindful Learning Center at Waikīkī Elementary School, and more than $1 million for Hawaiʻi Pacific Islands Campus Compact for the UH system campuses.

OFIE is committed to supporting grant applicants to develop competitive funding proposals. To succeed in this goal, we encourage applicants to take advantage of OFIE’s expertise in the review of proposal materials, and the design of a complete and consistent application package.
