Requirements

Classified Status

You must be a CLASSIFIED student seeking a degree or certificate program (approved for Title IV funding by the Department of Education) at Kapi‘olani Community College (Kapi‘olani CC) and generally enrolled at least half-time, 6 credits.

Applicants who are Unclassified, Nurse’s Aid Training, Home Care Operators, Dental Assisting, Emergency Medical Technician (examples of programs which are not approved for Title IV funding but are not limited to) will NOT be eligible for financial aid.

You must meet the requirements of the. UHCC SAP Policy (pdf)

Other Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a U.S. citizen or national, a citizen of the Trust Territories of the U.S., or an eligible non-citizen
  • Have a high school diploma or the recognized equivalent
  • Have a valid Social Security number (unless you are from the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Republic of Palau)
  • Not be in default on a Federal educational loan or owe a refund on a Federal grant
  • Enrolled in coursework that applies to your current Kapi‘olani CC degree program.
  • Kapi‘olani CC must be your home campus and you must be registered for at least 1 credit at Kapi‘olani CC.

Note: If you have a bachelor’s degree or a first professional degree you are not eligible for the Federal Pell Grant or the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.: If you have a bachelor’s degree or a first professional degree you are not eligible for the Federal Pell Grant or the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.
