Kapi‘olani Community College’s Healthy Campus 2020 committee is sponsoring a Learn CPR Day. It is Free for all students, faculty and staff and will teach the basics of CPR and use of the automated external defibrillator (AED). Brief hands-on demonstrations will be held continuously. Come learn CPR – you may save a life!
KCC is the FIRST in Hawai‘i to join with Healthy Campus 2020. This is a nation-wide initiative based on Healthy People 2020 and led by the American College Health Association (ACHA). The goal is to impact and improve the overall health of all students, faculty and staff on college campuses.
KCC has taken the pledge to work towards better health in areas such as tobacco and alcohol use, stress, poor diet and lack of physical exercise. “We are committed to being the Healthy Campus,” says Leon Richards, Chancellor. A Healthy Campus Task Force has been appointed to advance this health and wellness drive. Other Healthy Campus Partners include universities in over 10 other states and Canada – all working towards better health for their campus communities.
