Did you know? Everyday, one in every three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. This person may be your sister, mother, or close loved one. Most of the world remains silent and indifferent. The time has come to put a stop to violence, and to the violence that surrounds it.
The Kapi‘olani CC Violence Prevention Task Force (VPTF) will be hosting the WALK-A-MILE IN HER SHOES event to raise awareness to end violence against women and girls. VPTF members invite our CAMPUS COMMUNITY to join us in marching or supporting our marchers in this event.
On October 21st, the WALK-A-MILE IN HER SHOES event will take place at the Great Lawn at 12 noon. Our marchers will begin by taking a pledge against violence and promising to treat women and girls with respect and dignity. Our marchers will then walk around the Great Lawn to show their support for women and girls across our state, in our nation, and throughout the world.
Please share this information campus wide. Please see 2015 Walk A Mile Flyer for more information.
See you there! Thank you,
