Dr. Michaelyn NÄkoa Hall led a delegation from Kapiāolani Community College to the University of Southern California Race and Equity Centerās Takeoff: Institutional Innovations for College Men of Color grants kickoff event in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). Hall presented to a cohort of fourteen minority-serving institutions selected from a nationwide search on Kapiolaniās strategies to attract and retain male students from underrepresented populations to reverse the trend of declining enrollment of men in higher education.

USC RACE paired Kapiāolaniās Takeoff Team up with their coach, Dr. SĆ©fa Aina, Associate Dean and Director of the Draper Center at Pomona College in Southern California.
The grant kickoff event took place at the Conrad LA, one of Downtown LAās most exclusive venues. Participants met the USC RACE team, their coaches, and sponsors from the ECMC Foundation.
