  • Student Congress Fees are $0.50 per credit hour, not to exceed $5
  • Publication: $10
  • U-Pass (Transportation fee): $40 per semester, not available in the summer

Failure to Pay Fees

Failure to pay student fees will result in a financial obligation hold placed upon your account. If you have a balance equal to or less than $200.00, your financial obligation hold will allow for registration changes, however, it will prevent you from requesting transcripts and obtaining diplomas/certificates. If you have a balance greater than $200.00, your financial obligation hold will prevent you from any future registration changes, requesting an official transcript, and obtaining diplomas/certificates.”

Fee Refunds

A full refund of student activity, publication, UPass, and professional program fees are given for complete withdrawal from all of your class(es) in the University of Hawai‘i System before instruction starts or within the first week of instruction.

Note: UPass fee will be assessed to all students taking at least one in-person class at Kapiʻolani Community College. Students with the discounted U-PASS for disabilities, senior citizens, or high school students participating in Dual Enrollment are able to request the fee to be waived by contacting the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs office at kapvcsa@hawaii.edu.

Failure to Officially Drop a Class

You will not be dis-enrolled from classes if you register after any published tuition deadline. If you have not paid for tuition/fees, did not officially drop a class that you have stopped attending, or never attended:

  • You will be held responsible for payment of the tuition/fees unless you drop your classes within the stated refund deadlines for each class;
  • A financial obligation hold will be placed on your record (after 30 days of the start of the instruction), even if you do not attend the class;
  • You will receive a failing grade for the class.
