Your status may be adjusted…

If you completely withdraw from classes

According to the Return of Title IV Funds policy, students receiving financial aid and withdrawing on or before 60% of the semester has elapsed are required to repay a portion of the amount received.

Until the overpayment is cleared, you will not be able to receive specific services from any UH system school. In addition, your withdrawal may impact your Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP) and jeopardize awards for the subsequent semester. Learn more about SAPP.

If you withdraw from a class

Depending on the withdrawal date, your financial aid may be revised requiring you to repay a portion of the amount received. Withdrawing from a class may impact your Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP), effecting awards for the subsequent semester. Learn more about SAPP.

If you change your major

  • Your aid will be reviewed to determine the time frame for continued eligibility;
  • You may not be eligible for financial aid and aid received may have to be repaid if you switch, for example, to Nurse Aide Training, Home Care Operator, or another program that is not approved for Title IV funding.

If you switch to unclassified status

You will not be eligible for financial aid, and the aid received must be repaid.

If there is a change in your cost of education

Including but not limited to additional uniform or equipment requirements: your aid may be adjusted by increasing your loan opportunities. You should inform our office as soon as possible.
