Kapi‘olani Community CollegeUH Online connects you with over 40 online degree and certificate programs offered throughout the University of Hawaiʻi System. An online program is recognized as either fully online or hybrid (hybrid TBD at Kapi‘olani CC)
A Fully Online program is defined as an approved program of study in which all courses and instructional activities are offered online. There are no on-campus or in-person activities. There may be optional opportunities to attend a limited number of in-person events such as a program orientation and commencement ceremony.

Hawaiian Studies (AA)
The Associate in Arts in Hawaiian Studies (AAHS) provides a focused pathway for students pursuing an AA degree and transferring to a Hawaiian Studies, Hawaiian Language or other baccalaureate degree program within the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) system. The AAHS also provides students with beneficial qualifications for Hawaiʻi’s workforce, where knowledge of the host culture or alternative approaches to problem solving are desirable. Current UH System articulation policies allow students who have completed this degree at any of the community colleges to meet the general education core requirements at any of the four-year UH institutions.

Liberal Arts (AA)
The Associate in Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts is designed to give students the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to transfer to a four-year college / university, seek employment, contribute to their communities, and pursue lifelong learning. These skills, knowledge, and attitudes include creative problem solving, clear communication, analytical thinking, informed decision making, ethical judgment, teamwork and collaboration, and strong leadership. Liberal Arts, Business Administration (AA)
This concentration within the Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts is designed for students who intend to transfer to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Shidler College of Business. This AA concentration fulfills the current Kapiʻolani Community College AA Liberal Arts requirements while paying particular attention to the admission requirements to UHM’s baccalaureate program.

Liberal Arts, Human Development and Family Studies (AA)
The AA degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies prepares students to transfer to four-year institutions. This 60-credit program satisfies all of the requirements for the AA degree in Liberal Arts and also provides students with solid knowledge and skills to be successful in entering a university Human Development and Family Studies program. This concentration will provide students with the foundation understanding of ecological systems-based study of lifespan development and family resource management to prepare them for curriculum that further emphasizes the study of child, adolescent, adult development; family development (such as marriage and parenting); family resource management (such as consumer and family economics and family management); community needs; and leadership in human services occupations.

Liberal Arts, Social Work (AA)
The AA degree in Liberal Arts, with a Concentration in Social Work, satisfies all of the requirements for the AA degree in Liberal Arts. This concentration provides students with the foundation to be successful in entering university Bachelor of Science programs and future careers in Social Work.
The purpose of the concentration in Social Work is to create a clear pathway for students interested in transferring to a 4-year institution with a Bachelor’s degree in the area of Social Work. Entry-level positions in the workplace are practiced in a wide variety of settings. Settings range from hospitals and clinics, schools, public welfare departments, and family and child welfare agencies to counseling agencies, mental health clinics, gerontology and geriatric programs, and immigrant/refugee centers.

Accounting (CA)
The Certificate of Achievement in Accounting at Kapiʻolani Community College prepares students for entry-level advanced clerical, junior paraprofessional, or professional accounting positions in small business, public accounting, private industry, nonprofits and governmental organizations. Students get practical, hands-on experience practicing workplace-relevant skills and techniques.
