Makaloa: a sedge used for weaving; mesh of a net; center of a flower (fig. descendant).
The inaugural Ulana Makaloa will take place on August 19 through August 23.
Throughout the week of Ulana Makaloa, Kapiʻolani CC faculty, staff, students, and leadership will have the opportunity to engage with the campus as we set the tone for the Fall 2024 Academic Year.

Welcome our incoming students at Mahahiapo with the ʻoli holo, chant to set sail. Campus faculty, staff and peer mentors will welcome all new students as they start their journey at Kapiʻolani CC.

I Heart Kapi’olani CC is a public event celebrating education, community, and ‘ohana. The event brings together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the community to showcase the spirit and the distinctiveness of Kapi’olani CC. The event will offer a range of activities, music, food, and an opportunity to connect with the college and community.
