Ulana: To weave, braid, plait; to prophesy.
Makaloa:  a sedge used for weaving; mesh of a net; center of a flower (fig. descendant).

The inaugural Ulana Makaloa will take place on August 19 through August 23.

Throughout the week of Ulana Makaloa, Kapiʻolani CC faculty, staff, students, and leadership will have the opportunity to engage with the campus as we set the tone for the Fall 2024 Academic Year.

Let’s Talk About Our Students: A Day in the Life of Teachers & Counselors

Information session to explain the three-part workshop offered in the Fall.

Our goal is for instructional and counseling faculty to come together and build community – discuss what we see in our students’ experience and collaborate for student success.

Each session will focus on a particular time in the semester and the patterns of behavior and challenges we see in our students.
