A volcano is a rupture in the crust that allows hot magma, volcanic ash and gases to escape from a magma chamber below the surface. Volcanoes are mostly found where tectonic plates are converging or diverging, also hotspots can be found in the middle of a plate such as the Hawaiian Chain.
