TBSE Economics Bridge Program @ KCC

he Transcending Barriers to Success (TBSE) Bridge Program aims to transfer 100 participants from disproportionately COVID-affected groups, including Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, Filipinos, and women from Kapi’olani Community College to the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. Indigenous Economics (IE) curricula are increasingly being adopted in the U.S, Canada, and Australia. IE surveys historical and contemporary issues in indigenous economies, their complexity pre-European contact, the impact of market systems, and current economic conditions for Indigenous peoples. This 5-year bridge program provides opportunities for Bridge students to receive free summer data science and advanced economics courses, peer mentoring and support for their success in economics.
