Title III

Kapi ‘olani Community College was awarded several U.S. Department of Education Title III Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian (ANNH) Serving Institution grants to strengthen academic programs and services that help students succeed at the college. The Title III Part F grant, Strengthening Kapi ‘olaniʻs Campus and Culture for Student Success: Kauhale Ke Kuleana, the Responsibility of the Whole Village, seeks to provide an environment conducive to student success through targeted campus renovations, high impact student support and teaching practices, improved evaluation systems and fiscal stability. This 2014-19 grant from the U.S. Department of Education is $7,882,423 over an anticipated five years. In addition to the Title III Part F grant, the college received a Title III Part A grant titled, Kauhale Ke Kuleana, the Responsibility of the Whole Village, Phase II for $3, 894, 015.

In collaboration with the Kalāualani Council and the college faculty, staff and administration, these funds will be used for projects that align and support the strategic directions within the 2015-2021 Kapi‘olani Community College Strategic Plan and to support the goals and objectives within the Hawai‘i Papa O Ke Ao report.
