Participants of Hawaiʻi Great Leaders Seminar

In February 2018, the Title III Shared Services Center sponsored three Fellows’ participation in the popular Hawaiʻi Great Leaders seminar in Hilo, Hawaiʻi.

Ms. Keolani Noa (Native Hawaiian Academic Advancement Program Coordinator), brought along a book called, Hūlili Vol. 9 Multidisciplinary Research on Hawaiian Well-Being to share with the group.

Keōmailani Eaton (STEM Outreach Coordinator) shared, Hoʻoulu: Our Time of Becoming by Manulani Meyers.

Keisha Nakamura (Mala Maununu Learning Support Facilitator), shared ʻŌlelo Noʻeau, Hawaiian Proverbs & Poetical Sayings by Mary Kawena Pukui.

The Fellows joined 30 other University of Hawaiʻi staff members to discuss current leadership challenges within each campus. Fellows returned to Kapiʻolani campus with innovative ideas to improve methods of tracking student progress and developing proficient peer mentors.
