Please welcome Keauhou Mitchell-Aldan in her new position as the Huliāmahi Transfer Program Manager. She will be working in partnership with the Native Hawaiian Student Services at UH Mānoa to develop a Huliāmahi Transfer Program from Kapi‘olani Community College to UH Mānoa. Her position is funded through a U.S. Department of Education Title III Native Hawaiian-serving Cooperative grant.
Keauhou received her M.A. in Indigenous Education from Arizona State University, School of Social Transformation and her B.A. in Hawaiian Studies with a concentration in Mālama ʻĀina from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. For the past 4 years, she has supported Native Hawaiian students in achieving their academic goals at Kapiʻolani Community College. As an educator, she seeks to nurture Native Hawaiian scholars to establish their own foundation of knowledge for themselves, their families, and their communities. Keauhouʻs passion to support Native Hawaiian students in higher education developed from humble beginnings growing up in a rural Hawaiian kalo farming community in Keʻanae, Maui.
Please feel free to reach out to Keauhou if you have any questions about the Huliāmahi Transfer Program.
