Accreditation Standards for Student Learning

The development and implementation of a Student Learning Outcomes Assessment cycle is
one of the standards that must be met for accreditation requirements set forth by the ACCJC (Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges /Western Association of Schools and Colleges). All courses and programs at Kapi‘olani Community College must have Student Learning Outcomes that are assessed and reviewed. It is the responsibility of the faculty and advisory committees (in occupational areas), to develop SLOs.

The following standards address the specifics of the expectations of the commission in regard to Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment: I.B.2; I.B.5; II.A.1; II.A.11; II.A.12; and II.A.13.
